Grenada Sailing Festival

The 20th Anniversary of the Grenada Sailing Festival will be held on February 1 to February 3 on one the island’s most famous locations, Grand Anse Beach.  The festival will showcase two spectacular days of competitive racing in boats from the traditional fishing communities of Gouyave, Grand Mal, Sauteurs and Woburn as well as from the sister islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique.  These boats are made from local materials such as wood and bamboo and though most are designed solely to compete in these types of events, sailors also use fishing boats (work boats) from which they make their living, to compete.   This adds a unique touch to the festival.
